 (Ages 2½–6)

Children generally enter the Casa program in the September of the year they turn three, provided they are toilet-trained. If a child is not toilet-trained at that time, enrollment later in the school year may be possible at the discretion of the Principal and classroom teacher.

This is the ideal age to begin a Montessori education. During these formative years, children are developing key intellectual skills such as concentration, perception, and mental organization. They are also building personal skills including physical coordination, social awareness, independence, initiative, self-confidence, and self-discipline. Montessori classrooms are designed to nurture these abilities at the precise stage when children are most receptive.

Our Casa environment welcomes up to 24 students between the ages of 2½ and 6. Younger children attend five mornings each week, while Year 2 students extend their day three afternoons per week with lunch, recess, and an enrichment program tailored to their age. Year 3 students participate in a full five-day program, building advanced skills and preparing for the transition to the Elementary program.

By the end of the three-year Casa cycle, children are confident, capable learners who are ready to blossom into the Elementary years.
